Product Description One of the most influential art collectors of our time and founder of the global advertising agency, Charles Saatchi reveals his opinions on collecting, artists, dealers, advertising and investing in art with unflinching honesty. I hated the ecotistical mood the author used. My wife, however, loved it. She is the artist and tho book was meant for her. Subsequently you get a high rating and I HIT THE MARK.
Saatchi is nicer and smarter then I thought he wa. April 22, 2010 Ruth A. Migdal (Chicago) Before reading this book, I did not think much of Saatchi. After reading this delightful book, I think that he is very funny, and smart. I love his short to the point answers to some good as well as silly questions. This is a fast, very satisfying read that left me laughing. I recommend it highly. By the way, I am a professional artist and sculptor, so I understood the storie and humor behind his words.

I got the book to try to figure out how to sell Charles some of my art. For artists, this book is a chainsaw through the jungle. Direct, funny, brutal, hopeful. A quick read, where information trumps style and smugness.
My Name is Charles Saatchi and I Am an Artoholic February 18, 2010 Sacramento Book Review (Sacramento, CA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Charles Saatchi is a powerful name in the advertising industry. But even if you don't know him, his influence is evident in the fact that he has probably sold you a product or a service through the many ads that his agency, Saatchi & Saatchi, has churned. Since now that you know that you bought the products and services that he and his cohorts have peddled, aren't you the least bit curious to know just who this guy is? If you are, he has taken the time to answer questions about himself in Phaedon's pocketable book called //My Name is Charles Saatchi and I Am an Artoholic: Everything You Need To Know About Art, Ads, Life, God and Other Mysteries--and Weren't Afraid to Ask//.
As it turns out, Charles Saatchi is known for many things other than being enormously successful in the international advertising arena. As a reclusive art collector, he is reputed for breaking the careers of unknown artists. He also happens to be the husband of much adored British chef Nigella Lawson. What he is not known for, however, is answering questions (a lot of them) from the media or the general public who are eager to know more about his enigmatic persona. So now comes the handy //My Name is Charles Saatchi and I Am an Artoholic//, where he candidly and flippantly answers nearly 200 questions, and for the first time, on subjects of peculiar interest such as the leading international advertisers, artists, dealers, media, galleries, directors and politicians as well as musicians, film makers and coffee, among others.
In turn provocative, surprising and funny, this book is Charles Saatchi as has never been known before--often provocative, surprising and funny.

Interesting insight into the mind of the enigmatic Charles Saatchi January 19, 2010 R. Jacobi (Detroit) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a fun and illuminating read for anyone who would like to know about some of Saatchi's opinions about art and the art world in general. I like Saatchi's sense of humor. His wife ain't too shabby either (Nigella Lawson).
High-quality paperback w/ sewn binding and decent paper stock.
