Marriage and all relationships are about seeking to understand the other. This requires a mindset that is selfless in the respect that our goal is to look for and imploy ways to serve the other. This does not mean being a doormat, but sometimes can require that one decides to willingly endure a difficult situation in order that another person can grow to be a better person, happier, or more fulfilled. Understanding the other, then employing merciful and healing words and ways is the only hope to growing together in a relationship. We are willing to sacrifice much financially and emotionally for the sake of our children's growth and development, and yet we think people over the age of 18 are magically whole and perfect. None of us are, and so when we err, we appreciate another's mercy and understanding as we try to correct and heal.
This book addresses the topic respectfully and offers practical wisdom. It guides the heart of the reader through a path to understanding of both husband and wife who are strugging with the aftermath of sexual sin of the husband. In detail, it very accurately describes the motivation of the husband, how the wife is hurt by these acts, and what must be done to set the groundwork for healing and restored relationship. The promise lies in the testimonies of those who have persued this path, dispite the intense difficulty, and found healing and the relationship that they had always dreamed of. However, each of us has the choice to act on the wisdom, or not.
Personally, this book helped me identify and put into words what I was feeling and why. It helped me understand my husband better and so show mercy because of the struggle that has been raging inside him. It helped me understand ways that I may help him and reasons why I should. We are on the path to personal healing which will result in drawing our marriage relationship closer than it could have ever been before going through this struggle. I highly recommend this book, especially for Christian couples.

Unlike some of the other reviews, I found this book most helpful. I liked that it is written to the Christian wife of a Christian husband. While my situation may not be exactly the same as the examples in the book there are similarities and I was able to figure out how I needed to respond to the information I recently learned. Before reading the book I knew I wanted something that would support my decision to work this out. I decided to read through it once and then I decided to "work" through it. Taking what I read and applying it to my situation, personality and marriage. I found it necessary to pray my way through this process and seek God's will and knowledge so that it would not be "about me" as much as it would be about our marriage and our future together. I would recommend this book. I agree it does not address if the woman has been sexually wounded or is dealing with her own sexual sin but I really don't think that was the intent of the authors.

Understanding why your spouse was stupid enough to become entangled in the porno web is one thing; forgiving him and restoring your relationship is quite another. This book lays it all bare and gives practical counsel that, if followed, will help a woman wanting to accomplish that end.
Some reviewers of this book expressed disappointment with the focus on pornography and masterbation, but I bought it anyway. Adultery begins in the mind. With easy access to internet pornography, thoughts are turned into images. Sexual obsessions have mental, spiritual, and emotional ramifications. Each has to be acknowledged and addressed. This means going back to where it begins. Cut off a weed at its roots and it will die. This is a good book for women who are truly ready to forgive.

If you are a woman who's been hurt by your husband's sexual sin- this is the guide for you. I have been enlightened to many different things that I never thought of before. It is a wonderful, biblically based, book that will lead you to healing within yourself and your marriage. A must read! Be sure to order "Every Man's Battle" for your husband, and both study guides, as well. This combonation will set you on the path of healing and becoming the souple God intended you to become!
